Urash and An
In different myths, Urash may have been the creator of the Sumerian sky deity An or his wife. Jeremy Black has noted the mixed usage of this deity in the Sumerian tradition.
"He [An] is regarded as a
descendant of the god Uraš, with whom he was
later even identified; or else as the son of primordial
Ansar and Kišar. He is father of all
the gods. His wife is the earth goddess Uraš
in a later tradition he is married to Ki. As
Babylonian Anu he has a wife Antu." [1]
Ultimately, the relationship between An and Urash may depend solely on the cultural tradition and mythological story in question.
