Dr. Yigal Bloch is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Haifa since October 2016. His M.A. thesis, dealing with early biblical poetry, was submitted to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2005. His doctoral dissertation, which offers a study of ancient Mesopotamia in the 13th-12th centuries BCE, was submitted to the Hebrew University in 2012. Since then, he has been carrying out research on Mesopotamian history and society of the Late Babylonian period (6th-4th centuries BCE). In the framework of the Dead Sea Scrolls project at the University of Haifa, Dr. Bloch is responsible for preparing a digital edition of the Rule of Congregation.
