About Boban Dedovic

Boban Dedović is an interdisciplinary Croatian-American psycholinguist and technologist. Dedović was born in Yugoslavia and moved to the United States at the age of seven. His professional background includes working in the field of computer science. As an undergraduate, he earned both a B.A. in Religions of Antiquity and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also earned an M.A. in the humanities from the University of Chicago, where he studied Middle Egyptian and Akkadian. His academic writings focus on ancient languages like Homeric Greek, Sumerian, and classical Latin; and he contributes to various nonprofit organizations as an advisor or board member.

Boban Dedović is an interdisciplinary Croatian-American technologist and researcher. As an undergraduate, he studied Religions of Antiquity and Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. His senior seminar work won the University’s competitive Library Award for Research, which was focused on a Sumerian afterlife myth named ‘Inanna’s Descent to the Netherworld.’ Dedović also worked in the field of software development for over ten years, starting and growing several funded technology companies. His research at the University of Chicago focuses on better understanding the operational basis of human intelligence via humanity’s oldest written records.

Mr. Boban Dedovic began serving the Center as its Chief Technology Officer in 2017. In this role, he is responsible for driving the organization’s mission through its online and technical efforts. This includes, but is not limited to, contributions in marketing, branding, and operations. In 2019, Mr. Dedovic was nominated to serve as a Vice President of the Center, a position where he works closely with the organization's leadership in matters of strategy and corporate governance. His professional background has always centered around technology. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Dedovic started and grew several technology companies. This allowed him to provide his services as a consultant for various small to medium sized businesses. Before working on designing and implementing global-scale web applications, he worked with small businesses in various industries. Mainly, he worked with clients to design custom web applications. Throughout all of his projects, Mr. Dedovic has focused on helping businesses and consumers leverage software and the Internet to solve important problems.
